Radio 1’s Newsbeat show has all this week been highlighting climate change as part of their ‘Global Challenge’ week, so it seems fitting that Global Cool received a well deserved plug.
Hollywood stars Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth launched the 10-year initiative last month at the start of Japan’s 10th environment-friendly Fuji Rock Festival.
Radio 1’s current affairs show aired the announcement - made from the Fuji main stage by Lord Of The Rings star, Bloom - on its 5.45pm bulletin yesterday (10th August) and it went something like this…
“It’s amazing to be here in this beautiful environment. It’s a fantastic environment for a rock concert. We can save this environment, one by one, tonne by tonne. We can all make a difference, you, me all of us. We can make a difference to this environment today and moving forward.”
